Veneers

Porcelain veneers are thin casings, tailormade to preserve teeth and cover the front surfaces. They are made of delicate layers of porcelain and tinted to match the neighbouring teeth to provide a natural appearance. Porcelain veneers are popular cosmetic dental remedies because they are incredibly durable and look beautiful.

We use porcelain veneers to:

  • Correct teeth which look short or uneven with neighbouring teeth
  • Cover difficult stains
  • Even out tooth edges
  • Hide gaps and pits
  • Make teeth look straighter
  • Restore chips and cracks

How are porcelain veneers applied?

Applying veneers usually requires two visits, with little or no anaesthesia. We prepare the teeth by lightly buffing and shaping the surface to allow for the thickness of the veneer. We then take impressions of the teeth and decide on the ideal colouring for your smile.

During the second visit, we clean the teeth with special liquids to achieve a durable bond. We then place bonding cement between the tooth and veneer and a special light is used to harden and set them.

During the second visit, you will also receive care directions for veneers. Proper brushing, flossing and regular dental visits will prolong the lifespan of your new veneers.

What are the benefits of dental veneers?

There are a variety of benefits associated with veneers. First, they look like natural teeth and provide a healthy and natural looking smile. There is no need for surgery, and the recovery time is minimal. An additional benefit is that veneers are stain-resistant.
